What You’ll Be Doing:

Oversee activities of employees working in the manufacturing of product to ensure safety, quality and productivity.  Act as an effective communicator between management and production employees in order to build and maintain relationships.  Plan and assign work, implement procedures, and enforce policies.  Suggest methods for improving production, processes, or operating conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned. 

Warehousing  

  • Assure the safe and proper storage and removal of product in the warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date location log.
  • Institute and maintain FIFO procedures.
  • Maximum utilization of storage space.
  • Determine RC/CA for inventory discrepancies.
  • Insure proper containment procedures are followed when storing reject/hold items.
  • Insure forklifts and other warehouse equipment is kept in safe working order.
  • Work within Warehouse budget to determine best strategy for equipment repair 

 

Shipping /Receiving

  • Provide focus on meeting the shipping needs of the customer through continual information sharing and follow-up.
  • Coordinate the priorities of order picking based on customer priority communicated through Production Planners.
  • Assure the accurate, orderly, and prompt receipt of products and processing of related paperwork.
  • Coordinate interplant trucking to assure proper movement of materials and storage containers between plants and outside service vendors.
  • Team
  • Ensure that work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are maintained in a meaningful and current form.
  • Provide necessary tools to enable each team member to effective in doing their job, while requiring accountability.
  • Deal promptly with performance problems and maintain all performance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee timekeeping, attendance and vacation records (Kronos).
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training/testing for warehouse and other warehouse employees on proper forklift procedures.
  • Coordinate and maintain 6S in the warehouse area.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Schedule: This supervisor-level position is overtime-exempt and will primarily work eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs during overnight hours. Training may occur on other shifts. 

 

QualificationsQualifications

  • Five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Including experience with:
  • Two or more years’ in supervisory roles.
  • Managing warehouse logistics team (shipping, receiving, storage)
  • Shipping documentation systems and basic Microsoft Office
  • Operating forklifts, overhead cranes and other material moving equipment.
  • Possesses knowledge of DOT requirements.
  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree
