Seeking leaders for our Indiana facility’s NEW weekend shift. Do you have strong communication and team building skill? Do you have a proven history of helping operations team successfully deliver quality parts on-time to customers safely? We want to meet you!

 What You’ll Be Doing:

Oversee activities of employees working in the manufacturing of product to ensure safety, quality and productivity.  Will be an effective communicator between management and production employees in order to build and maintain relationships.  Plans and assigns work, implements procedures, and enforces policies.  Suggests methods for improving production, processes, or operating conditions. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned. See job posting attached for full details.

    • Understand all the parts of the production process in order to develop methods to utilize personnel and resources in the best possible ways:
    • Ensure employees follow safety regulations knowledgeable about safety requirements and make sure that no violations occur
    • Ensure production of products meets or exceeds efficiency and company quality standards 
    • Ensure steady flow of production activities by coordinates working schedules and overtime to meet production goals.  
    • Ensure optimal machine utilization 
    • Ensure supplies and resources are provided
    • Initiate, recommend, investigate, trouble-shoot and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the products, process and quality system
    • Motivate and develop a cohesive production team, by building trust, rewarding, recognizing positive behavior and solving conflicts quickly.  
    • Lead teams to meet production metrics and engage in continuous improvement activities. i.e. Kaizens, team meetings  
    • Responsible for the operators' performance reviews, training & development, discipline and attendance
    • Recommends and implements action plans to correct deviations noted during audits.
    • Develop more cost-effective processes and reducing waste while also increasing productivity and employee satisfaction. 
    • Assist with manpower planning and interviewing job applicants.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Directly supervises employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, which includes: include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

 

Schedule: This manager level position is overtime-exempt. This position will work a primarily three twelve hours schedule to support our day or weekend shift team members. Day shift is Friday to Sunday, 6AM to 6:00PM and overnights is 6PM to 6:00AM Friday overnight to Sunday overnight. Training may occur on other shifts and days or could include a split shift or shift flexibility as needed.  

QualificationsQualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build a team environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years’ related experience in roll forming, metal fabrication and/or similar manufacturing environment
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft office products and ability to learn/use manufacturing software Global Shop Solutions.
  • US Person or meets ITAR/EAR requirements
  • Willingness to relocate within 45 miles of facility

 

 Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-5 years’ experience supervising or managing others
  • Knowledge of metal forming, tube bending, and/or various welding processes 
  • Advanced Lean Manufacturing experience
  • ISO/Quality experience
