This Privacy Policy Notice serves to inform you of the way We collect and use your personal data as well as of the scope and purposes of such collection and use when you visit and utilize Our website https://jobs.voestalpine.com (hereinafter the “Website”). voestalpine AG, voestalpine-Strasse 1, A-4020 Linz, Austria (hereinafter “We,” “Us,” “Our,” or “voestalpine”) is the controller of this Website as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

There is a separate Privacy Policy Notice for Job Applicants in case you are submitting a job application. The voestalpine Group company that published a given job announcement is responsible for processing your personal data in connection with your application as well as for the content of the job announcement (see separate Privacy Policy Notice for Job Applicants).

What kinds of data are stored?

“Personal data” refers to information on specific individuals (natural persons) whose identity has been or may be determined (e.g. name, email address, or IP address).

a. Making the Website available and creating log files

Every time Our Website is accessed and every time content posted to this Website is accessed, particular information on the given event is temporarily stored and processed in a log file.  This concerns the:

  • IP address
  • Access date and time
  • Page accessed/name of the file accessed
  • Data volume transmitted
  • Report whether access was successful

The data are processed in accordance with Art. 6 (1) letter a and/or letter f (legitimate interest) of the GDPR. The personal data thus processed are used for statistical analyses as well as for the purpose of operating, securing, and optimizing the Website (legitimate interest).  Any processing of your personal data above and beyond the foregoing is subject to your consent.

b. Sharing of job announcements in social media networks

You have the option of sharing job announcements on the following social media platforms: Facebook, X, Xing, Google+, Whatsapp and LinkedIn.

You must log in to the respective social media platform in order to be able to share job announcements. Solely the link to the given job announcement is transmitted in this case. No personal data is transmitted.

See the data policies of the individual social media platforms for information on the purpose and scope of their data collection, any further processing and use of the data by them as well as your applicable rights, including the right to adjust relevant settings to protect your privacy.

Retention periods

If no retention period is expressly specified at the time the data is collected (e.g. in connection with a declaration of consent), your personal data will be erased (or anonymized), provided the data is no longer required for storage purposes and provided statutory retention obligations (e.g. retention obligations under commercial or tax law) do not preclude any erasure.

Transmission and sharing of the personal data

Absent your consent, We shall not transmit to third parties your personal data, if any, which We collected in connection with your use of the Website, unless such transmission is necessary or required by law/order of government agencies for fulfilling Our obligations.

We assign the processing of personal data to service providers (for example, in connection with an IT support contract). These service providers are contractually bound to comply with the requirements of the GDPR.

  • In accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, you have the right to restriction of processing.

  • In accordance with Art 21 GDPR, you have the right to object to data processing.

Finally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority responsible for you.
