The Manager - Sales (Distributor Management) will be responsible for driving sales growth through distributors across India and Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka and managing relationships with them. The role focuses on ensuring that distributors are aligned with the company's strategic goals and delivering on targets. The incumbent will develop, implement, and monitor sales strategies, manage distributor networks, and ensure an efficient supply chain. Additionally, the manager will work closely with internal teams such as marketing, supply chain, and finance to enhance market penetration and maximize revenue from the welding consumables and accessories product lines.

  • Distributor Network Management:
    • Develop and manage relationships with distributors across the assigned regions (India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka).
    • Set performance expectations for distributors and monitor their sales efforts and compliance with company policies.
    • Identify, appoint, and manage new distributors where necessary to expand market reach.
    • Provide training and support to distributors on product offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning.
    • Conduct regular business reviews and ensure distributors adhere to agreed-upon terms and conditions.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy that aligns with the overall business goals.
    • Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify sales opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective sales campaigns and promotional activities.
    • Ensure pricing, product availability, and promotions are consistent across regions and distributors.
    • Coordinate with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of products.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify and develop opportunities for growth within the existing distributor network.
    • Work with distributors to target new accounts and maintain relationships with key clients.
    • Leverage product knowledge and market intelligence to support distributors in growing their business.
    • Ensure cross-selling and upselling of welding consumables and accessories within the region.
  • Forecasting & Reporting:
    • Provide accurate sales forecasts and projections for all distributors and regions.
    • Monitor sales performance, prepare reports, and share key insights with senior management.
    • Track distributor performance against KPIs and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and end-users through the distributors.
    • Address and resolve escalated customer complaints and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure all business dealings comply with company policies, ethical standards, and local laws.
    • Identify potential risks within the distributor network and mitigate them proactively.

QualificationsQualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in sales, with at least 4 years in distributor management.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a regional or multi-country role.
  • Strong understanding of welding consumables, accessories, or related industries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to analyze sales data and market trends.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the region.
